Call out sentence: I would encourage anyone who lives on or near Moose Pond and loves our special lake as much as I do to support the work of MPA
Growing up in the Bridgton area, I have great memories of enjoying Moose Pond and the surrounding mountains, lakes, and streams. No matter what season, this place has a natural beauty that makes me feel at home. I am now fortunate enough to own a home on Moose Pond. Having easy access to this natural beauty has deepened my appreciation for the area and how to enjoy it sustainably. To me, joining the MPA Board was a tangible way for me to help protect and maintain Moose Pond for future generations to enjoy.
I did my research before deciding to join the board, and learned that the MPA has, in partnership with the LEA, worked hard to prevent invasive plant species from entering Moose Pond through regular and robust lake monitoring, and voluntary boat inspections at the two launch sites. I was also encouraged to learn that the MPA has a strong focus on preserving the shoreline from erosion too – both from increased boat traffic and on-shore development.
I look forward to my time on the MPA board, working to solve any issues threatening the health of Moose Pond and the surrounding area. I would encourage anyone who lives on or near Moose Pond and loves our special lake as much as I do to support the work of MPA by donating to the cause, volunteering, or both.
As a not yet 40 year old, I challenge my peers to become more involved in the preservation of our very special, beautiful lake. It’s time for us to step up and become the next generation of Lake Stewards.
